Reunion Trip Part 6

The main event for the third full day of our Farnsworth Reunion (Thursday June 24, 2010) was our Family Olympics.  This year Isaac & Juli King, Michelle Despain and Malisa Whiting were in charge and they did a FABULOUS job!

Malisa Whiting explained each of  the events and helped get everyone divided up into teams.  Each team had to come up with a team name, banner and cheer.  They received points for team spirit throughout the Olympics. 

Aunt Kim’s team was particularly spirited.

 

 

It was fun to see all the creative cheers the teams came up with.

There were many fun events throughout the Family Olympics, including a game like “Hot Potato” where glasses of water were passed around the circle (instead of a potato).  The music for the game was conducted by Isaac King who led everyone on the sidelines in singing our Farnsworth Family Song - “This Is Our Family”.  The chorus grew as more people got  caught with water in their hands.

Another fun event was where each team had to lick off the frosting from a bunch of Oreo cookies and nibble the remains to spell out “Farnsworth”.  It was fun to see the creative ways each team came up with to create the letters necessary to spell out “Farnsworth”.

 

 

 

There were also a lot of fun relay events!

 

Ashilene really bonded with Aleisa King, but was pretty tuckered out by the end.

  Annabelle Pettersen also started showing signs of fatigue. 

 

 

 

 

 

Jonathan Pettersen spent most of the day preparing the Reunion Recap DVD that was shown that evening at our Reunion Recognition and Awards Ceremony.

Our Reunion Food Chairperson Extraordinaire, Mike King, slaved away on freshly baked bread.  Yum!!!!!!

That evening Bob and Diane Ogden (last year’s Chairpersons) handed off the Reunion Chairperson’s Plaque to John and Ruth Perkins, Rojohn and I.  That plaque is now hanging prominently in our living room as a wonderful reminder of all the fantastic memories I have from our Farnsworth Reunion 2010.
