Last year Ashilene dressed up as Elmo and her cousin, Kaylana, dressed up as Minnie Mouse. This year Ashilene was Little Mermaid and Kaylana was Princess Tiana. Aren’t they adorable?!!!
We went to Lolo and Lola’s Ward Trunk or Treat Party this year. Our ward was having another Bring Your Own Pizza Party/Trunk or Treat and since I’m currently not supposed to be eating dairy (including cheese), I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to tempt myself with one of my favorite cheesy foods! Plus, this way Ashilene got to spend time with her Lolo, Lola and cousins. She had way more fun than she is showing in this picture.
I left the Trunk or Treat early to attend my mom’s orchestra concert, so imagine my surprise when I returned home to discover that one of the prizes Ashilene brought home from the Trunk or Treat was her very own goldfish! Being late on a Saturday night, we certainly weren’t well equipped for a goldfish, but we put some water in a vase and hoped s/he’d survive the weekend. We read online that goldfish like to have things to hide behind, so we tried putting some of Ashilene’s bath toys in with the fish, but that didn’t work too well, since they just floated up to the top.
Fishy Wishy and Ashilene sure were excited when Mommy finally had a chance to get some cool fish stuff from Walmart on Monday!
Ashilene recently started Joy School and she absolutely LOVES it! Halloween was Mommy’s first time to teach. Ashilene stayed up late the night before to help Mommy make sugar cookies for her friends to decorate at Joy School on Halloween.
In addition to learning about Feelings and the Letter L, Ashilene and her friends got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and deliver some of the cookies we decorated to our elderly neighbors.
Sola was a Bunny. Hank was a Skeleton and Ashilene was Little Mermaid. After delivering the cookies, they got to do a Halloween parade for their Moms and Grandmas. I hadn’t told Ashilene that Grandma was coming and the look of sheer joy on her face when she saw her Grandma was simply priceless. She ran up to her and gave her a big hug.
The Halloween Parade ended up quickly turning into Dancing and Rolling chaos, but they had a blast!
Ashilene has been really into stickers lately, so instead of painting her pumpkin this year, she covered her pumpkin in stickers! On Halloween night, she had a blast trick-or-treating with her cousin, Kaylana. It was another fabulous Halloween!
