Ashilene’s 3rd Birthday

When we found out that May 16th was going to be the hottest day of the week, we decided to go to Laguna Beach instead of Disneyland for Ashilene’s 3rd birthday.  After getting up SO early the day before, it felt really good to sleep in on Wednesday.  When we did wake up, we let Ashilene open one birthday present.  She seemed happy to receive her new Princess swimsuit.

We stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things (like beach shoes) for our beach trip.  Then we grabbed lunch at McDonalds.  Ashilene loves fries!

It was a lovely day to go to the beach.

 

 

 

 

 

Ashilene and Kaylana had so much fun together!

There was even a little playground right there on the beach.  Ashilene especially loved the swings and had a blast singing and swinging away.

 

 

 

The girls were excited to stop by Costco after Laguna Beach.

 

They were able to get cool floatation devices before we ate dinner – pizza & hot dogs.

Back at the hotel, we decided to go swimming in the awesome heated pool.  At first Ashilene was petrified and kept crying and clinging to Mommy and Daddy in the pool, but eventually she calmed down and we were able to show her how to use her cool new floatation device from Costco.  She discovered that swimming actually is a lot of fun and had a blast swimming around with her new floatation device.  It was so fun watching the transformation from crying fear to happy confidence.

After swimming we went back to our rooms to shower and change.  Then the Canizalez family brought over carrot cake cupcakes for Ashilene’s birthday.

 

 

Then she got to open her last presents from Mommy & Daddy – new clothes to wear to Disneyland!!!!!
